Mrs. Taylor's College Readiness classes were finished up their unit on alternatives to 4 year college with a presentation from C PO2 USN Victoria Pina from the US Navy.

Ms. Henson's Art 1 class began a paper mache project. The students enjoyed doing something out of the ordinary.

Jacob Long and his family traveled to Israel and Palestine this summer. Mrs. Criblez Cultural World Geography II class is currently studying that region. We were fortunate to have Jacob be a guest speaker for the last 15 minutes of class today. He shared his experiences and photos and answered questions from the class. It was a great experience for students to hear from a peer about a topic that we are talking about in class.

Southeast Missouri State will be presenting about financial aid for education past high school. Parents of any Cape Central Hight School student is welcome!

We have another huge announcement showcasing academic excellence that we believe our entire school community will want to celebrate! Cape Central seniors Andrew Wilde and Yan Zhang have earned their way into one of the most prestigious academic circles in the United States as National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists! Congratulations on this incredible accomplishment!

Cape Girardeau Public Schools (CGPS) is pleased to announce that two former students have been awarded the rootEd Undergraduate Scholarship. Liliana Correa Salinas and Lupita Correa Salinas, both freshmen at the University of Missouri, will receive up to a total of $60,000 a piece to pursue their undergraduate degrees. The bilingual twins are first-generation college students. Liliana is majoring in mechanical engineering and Lupita is majoring in computer science. We want all of our students, staff, and families in all of our CGPS schools to join us in celebrating this huge accomplishment! Congratulations Liliana and Lupita!

Coaches, sponsors and teachers spoke to freshman during the Co-curricular Fair held in connection with orientation on Tuesday.

Ms. Chicora lead a group of 10 Cape Central students to Belize on a STEM tour in July and they had a lot of fun and learned a lot.
