Dear CGPS Families and Staff,
During our graduation ceremony today at the Show-Me Center, an altercation occurred forcing us to stop the ceremony and evacuate the building.
Fortunately, no students or staff members were injured and thanks to the assistance of staff members at the Show-Me Center, we were able to get everyone out of the building safely. We are thankful for the quick response of our school resource officers who were already at the Show-Me Center and for Cape Police Department officers who responded to the call.
We will be forced to reschedule the graduation ceremony at a later time. Please be patient with us as we work through this situation. We want to plan an event that celebrates our graduates the way they deserve, but our priority at this time is working with police to aid in their investigation of this situation.
Sincerely,
Dr. Howard Benyon, Superintendent

This year's recipients of the 2024 P & G Scholarship (from CHS) were Celeste Guiterezz and Brandon Webb.
Both Celeste and Brandon spoke highly about the programs at the CTC (PLTW and Welding) as part of their learning experience at Cape Central and how those programs were instrumental in their future plans to attend MO S&T. One other student, Noland Beussink, spoke about the CTC in his reception speech as well. This says a lot about the CTC and the instructors. These kids were top notch students, many with ACT scores over 30. Each student that received a scholarship also received an invitation to come back to P & G to work in management.
Mrs. Ward hosted an End of the Year party for all her students and to celebrate the seniors in the group. Good luck seniors!
In honor of Teacher Appreciation Week, teachers participated in destressing activities such as painting, laser tag and dance.
Ms. Allen's kids participated in this week's fun by dressing up for pj day and Dress Like a Teacher.
Central Light was a great night with art, poetry, and music. We may have had a small group, but they were some of CHS finest. I think this speaks to everyone who teaches these talented kids.
