No Cheer Open Gym tonight due to school closing. It will be rescheduled at a later date.

On Friday night we crowned Tyson WIlliams Homecoming King and Gabby Carter Queen, congratulations to you both! We also recognized Jay Reynolds for scoring 1,000 points, congratulations Jay!

There will be no school Monday, January 22, 2024 due to the freezing rain and potential for unsafe road conditions.

Interested in cheer at CHS? Open gym is January 22 from 5-7 pm.

REMINDER: There will be no school on Monday, January 15, 2024 for MLK Day and on Tuesday, January 16 for a Professional Development Day. Students are back on Wednesday, January 17.

We want to remind families that students return to class on Tuesday, January 9, 2024. We hope everyone has had a wonderful winter break.

Ms. Patty Wamble was recognized at the annual faculty Holiday Breakfast Wednesday morning. Retired teacher, veteran and VFW representative Robert Freidrich presented her with the VFW Outstanding Teacher Award. Congratulations Ms. Wamble!

Teachers have been participating in theme days this month. Today was Twin Day!

Cape Central High School Swim and Dive Student Athlete Tommy-Anne Marriott signed her Letter of Intent to compete at Ball State University! In the pictures below (Left to Right) you will see her signing with her mom Brooke Marriott, sister Danika Marriott, sister Emily Marriott, and brother Jacob Marriott. Also in a picture below Left to Right are her coaches Mary LeGrand, Dayna Powell, and Chad Sierman.

The Cape Tiger Scholar Bowl team took 4th place Saturday at the Poplar Bluff Tournament. The team took 4th place out of 10 teams. Dulina Dias took 6th place over all in the tournament.

CHS Beta Club member Annaliese Reinier organized a bell ringing event from 10am-8pm on Saturday, raising the most of any kettle so far this year for the local Salvation Army! Way to go Tiger Betas!

JROTC cadets volunteered their time and effort to a worthy cause in supporting the annual Marine Corps Toys-4-Tots campaign collecting toys and donations for regional families during the holiday season. Cadets worked with the Student Senate on the CHS Toy Drive collecting nearly 150 toys to donate. On Wed and Thurs nights, cadets worked alongside the Marine Corps League to collect toys and money outside of Schnucks. And then again on Saturday, cadets worked from 9am-5pm organizing, sorting, and preparing toys for distribution to local families. In all, 30 cadets supported the effort and volunteered over 170 hours of time to help the community.

Our own Cape Central cheerleading squad will be competing for state championship today at the show me center! They will perform at 11 o'clock. Come support these girls that have worked so hard!

Students discovering the Triangle Inequality Theorem in Mrs.Lukefahr’s class

Mrs. Taylor's College Readiness Class welcomed speakers two different days last week. Dr. Bruce Skinner, Associate Vice President of Student Life at SEMO spoke on the realities of college life and gave advice on being successful. Officer Angle, Resource Officer at CHS spoke on tips to stay safe on college campuses. They both shared lots of useful advice.

The CHS Robotics Team had another competition this weekend. The team of Henry White, Saratoga Rich, Parker Estes, and Noah Caldwell took 2nd place! They did a great job and had a great time. Next meet is in January—who knows how they will do then! Mrs. Fuehne, the sponsor said "I am so excited and proud of them!"

Last Thursday, all sophomores toured the CTC to learn about all the programs they had to offer. This was an effort to help students made educated decisions about the courses they may want to add to their schedule for next year.
