Cape Central High's Zack Hodges has won the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) state essay contest. Zack was nominated by the CHS Social Studies Department for the DAR Good Citizen Award. According to the DAR website, this award recognizes and rewards high school seniors who possess the qualities of dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism in their homes, schools, and communities.
Zack was invited to participate in the scholarship portion of the program, which consists of a personal statement and an essay. His essay was selected by the local chapter of the DAR to be submitted to state. Zack's essay won the state essay contest!
