William Miller and Joseph Cao

Cape Central High School seniors Joseph Cao and William Miller have been selected for the 2026 Missouri Scholars 100, a prestigious statewide recognition honoring Missouri’s top academic students.

The Missouri Scholars 100 program, sponsored by the Missouri Association of Secondary School Principals, identifies and celebrates students who demonstrate exceptional academic achievement. Schools across the state nominate candidates, with final selection based on a formula that considers grade point average and ACT or SAT scores.

To qualify, nominees must meet rigorous academic standards, including a minimum unweighted GPA of 3.75, an ACT score of at least 29 or an SAT score of at least 1280, and a class rank in the top 10 percent. Students are also required to complete advanced coursework in mathematics, science, English, and a foreign language.

In addition to academic excellence, candidates must demonstrate strong attendance, exemplary citizenship, and active leadership and involvement in school activities. Each student also completes the program’s “Academic Decathlon,” a series of criteria designed to further evaluate their overall academic performance.

Cao and Miller’s selection reflects their dedication, discipline, and commitment to excellence both in and out of the classroom.

Cape Girardeau Public Schools congratulates Joseph and William on this outstanding achievement.
